Most of Coventown was written to a kickin' doom metal soundtrack :)
I've got a fairly large cast, with different characters essentially texting the player in turn. When creating a new node, it defaults to the first name in my characters list--since each conversation can take up to a few dozen nodes, it's a little tedious to go back and select the proper character each time--plus it might make more of a possibility of making a mistake. Would it be possible to have the option to default new nodes to the last character you selected?
I am now 100 pages into Gene Wolfe's Latro in the Mist and I could not tell you a single thing that's going on. I think he might be my favorite writer.
Actually, I could work with this--I don't think I have a single character who's particularly honest with the player in my story :)
Oh man, I'm an *ex* New Yorker who moved to Portland, OR about two months ago! i knew they were talking to a bunch of people through the IFCOmp and all of that--I've heard of a bunch of you and I'm glad to be in such good company :)
I've worked almost exclusively in Twine up to this point--my stuff's at richardgoodness.wordpress.com/games/ For here, i'll be doing Coventown, which involves witches and vampires and shit like that.
I'll be excited when we're able to play through each others'!
Just finished Sword of Shannarra which was both awful and wonderful, and am currently doing The Demon Princes by Jack Vance, which is basically Star Trek meets Kill Bill. And then I've got Gene Wolfe's Latro in the Mist on deck for next time.

Since reading this thread, incidentally, I've noticed that my boss ends just about all of her text messages with a period, and they're making me super paranoid. I'll tell her we need something and she'll say a simple "Okay.", because it doesn't require anything beyond a simple confirmation, but I'll immediately wonder what the hell i did wrong :)
